The 26th edition of the Festa Nazionale della Befana di Urbania was a huge success.
The event really brought the whole family together thanks to numerous initiatives, food and wine, and the history of the charming village.
We celebrated this sweet little grandmother (who officially hails from Urbania) for three magical days.
There were plenty of events, shows, and sweat treats for young and old people to enjoy in Urbania.
The extensive “Il Natale che non ti aspetti” programme promoted by the Pro Loco of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino culminated in a magical closing event that captivated people of all ages, from young children to teenagers, parents, grandparents, and even aunties and uncles. La Befana’s enchanting house, complete with a post office, lucky dip, 3D experiences, and Lego constructions, left everyone mesmerised.
Valeria Falleri, President of Pro Loco Durantina, said, “Of course, let’s not forgot the children who are staying in bed & breakfasts, farmhouses, and apartments in Urbania. Hundreds of gifts were delivered by befanas throughout the town, and even children in campervans were included. More than 400 campers and caravans touched down in Urbania for the event. It was incredible to see Urbania so full of children, pushchairs, and families. We’ve enjoyed lots of entertainment, music, and relaxation after all the effort and hard work we put in throughout the year. We would like to say a big thank you to the more than 250 volunteers who have worked tirelessly during the celebrations, as well as to the city tradespeople who have worked together and whose positive impact we are sure has been felt thanks to the event.”
All there’s left to do is start preparing for next year, as plenty of fun and celebrations are guaranteed in Urbania from 4-6 January 2024!
